Unit got caught out in the rain, now won't power on, any tips? Can waypoints still be retrieved if service is needed? Thanks

The product is advertised as being "waterproof", yet it seems to be a common problem with those units....

No, the machine must be up and running to make a backup. Betting they will tell you the unit can't repaired and offer to sell you a replacement unit for $300+
