Lowrance LMS 332c

i got a Lowrance LMS 332c along with a Nautic Path chip. i have a few questions.
1. when i turn on the gps will it read the Nautic path chip? or will i need to do something to get it working?
2.I see where it says it shows ship wrecks and bottom objects. How to i find those?
3.when i first take off in the ocean what do i need to set to find my way back the same way i came? Thanks

i have found i guess what appears to be ship wrecks but not sure it has some line looking things where i guess they are but i thought they said it would show up as a ship. one of them says this WK CARIBSEA 242.8 mi 120mag. of course thats from my house to ocean so it that a wreck there or what?
