My X-65's speedometer stopped working all of a sudden. All other features(Bottom finder, water temp, etc..) still work. Im assuming the paddle wheel is faulty since this is the part responsible for the speed. Before I go tearing the whole unit out, is there anything I can replace on the paddle wheel itself that may easily correct this condition? Thanks,Pat.

Re: Lowrance speedometer not working. Paddlewheel the problem??

Hi Pat, I had a X-65 unit and had a problem with the speedometer working improperly and at times not at all. Found the water wheel axle hole had worn to the point that the wheel had moved to far away from sensor to pick it up. I bought some nylon bushings at lowes and drilled the hole in wheel to accept the bushings. Once the wheel was back in its proper location it worked fine.
