My boat came with an X51 Pro fish finder, and it does turn on and seem to work. I know it's not THAT old, having been last sold in about 2018..

Is this unit worthy enough to use? Garmin Stryker 4 catches my eye but the screen is smaller. GPS is a plus though. Not really sure I need tandem fish finders.

Like most electronics, the X51 is old beyond its years from a technology perspective. Going on two generations at this point.

Having said that, a newer unit buys you nothing until you have enough experience to interrupt what your seeing on the display. My recommendation is to use the X51 until you get a grasp on usage and save up money for a larger display

I talked to my dad about it who fishes the lakes that I will and he wrote it off because it does not have a speedometer wheel. But he has an older fish finder that he will give me which has one, so between the 2 of them I should be good
