Lowrance X75 depth finder not getting a reading.

hi my friend just bought a boat, its a 2001 model. the depth finder is a lowrance x75. the power will come on but we get no reading at all. i tried to put in diffrent things from the menu, but could not get a response. any ideas on what we could look for?

Make sure the connections are properly made and check the condition of the pins in the plugs. With the unit switched on listen to the transducer and you should hear it "clicking". If you don't hear the clicking then chances are the transducer has failed. Lowrance give excellent back up to their products so if all else fails contact them.
