Lowrance X85 Not Displaying

I have a Lowrance X85 graph. I am frustrated because I have never been able to get it to work. The graph turns on and I can go through all the set up screens, but displays no detail and no matter what the depth of the water is it reads 0.00. All connections have been checked at the graph. Where would y'all recommend I start to trouble shoot?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />John

It would sound like the transducer is not working. With the unit switched on can you hear the transducer "clicking", you may have to put your ear close to it. If it is clicking then it is probably working, certainly well enough for it to display something at shallow depths. Try going into the menu and icreasing the gain to maximum, may be called "sensitivity".<br />If still nothing find someone else who has a similar unit and try theirs on your transducer, then try your unit on their transducer until you eliminate which component is faulty.<br />Somewhere in the menu is probably a "demo" mode. Switch that on to ensure your screen is functioning OK although if you can enter into the screen menus it is probably not that.<br />Post your results,and good luck.<br />Andy
