Re: LT. Watada...Hero or Cowardly Traitor?
Haut, your first troll !
And all by yourself.
PW and Ray will be proud of you!
Hero ???
Only a liberal would throw the word HERO at a Coward.

The above was just a fun poke. 8)
Now... dot dot dot
I have a little different take on this because in real life his story
just doesn't add up. Unless I'm correct.
I have no proof or inside information to back this up.
Just my thoughts.
Lets look at what happened
1: I think he is a Coward
2: I think he is a Liberal Demon-crate whack job. (Sean Penn type)
I believe he (maybe with the help of others) planned this
whole thing before he ever enlisted to make this administration
and the military look bad.
Lets do the math.
A: He joined as enlisted after the war was started. DUH!
remember as enlisted he can't just resign but is on a X number
of years contract.
A1: If he tried it as enlisted he would look like a coward and
get very little media support.
B: After joining he applied for and became a Officer.
B1: knowing full well he could resign.
B2: knowing full well after spending all that money and time
training him as enlisted then as a officer they would most likely
not accept his resignation.
C: By trying to resign he can cop out that he tried, "they bad military / Bush" wouldn't let him do it..
D: He immediately went to the press. More likely they were just
waiting for his pre-planed resignation to jump all over it.
I believe in my number two choice (and he may have just
been a pawn like Cindy S) but,
in either case the military is within their full right to handle it
in a closed system where only military law applies.
Throw him in prison, then hang him high and maybe shoot him
afterwards. It's all ok with me,
Remember he did not apply as a consciouses objector.
He could have been re assigned. But he did not do this.
It's all politics with him.
Here is his down fall.
Short version:
As enlisted you swear an oath to obey the orders of the President of the United States and all Officers appointed
above you.
As an Officer.
You swear an oath to obey (not the president) but the laws as
put forth by congress.
And congress voted for the war.!
