lube points 03 merc.225 4stk

removed prop to lube bearing,found lube fitting, hooked up to lube gun and it would not take grease. I removed fitting cleaned out hole and that was what it was,a hole. Is a dummy lube fitting or should there be a hole there to lube a bearing?My merc. maint. manual says it is for lubing a bearing,and so does yamaha. lube or not lube is the question.

Have no idea what you are looking at, there are no grease fittings accessable by removing the prop.
Do you have some pictures of the fitting you could post?

it is a regular grease fitting like on a truck suspension,just like the owner's manual says, no pictures

took off the propeller today just to be sure its a grease fitting,and it is, and will not take grease
