I have a Yamaha 704 dual binnacle with twin SWS II 200s. The engines are 1997 and I suspect the binnacles are the same age. Although the shifting works without obvious binding, it is clearly not as smooth as a new boat, which is especially noticeable when I am docking.
Is there standard lubrication on a binnacle? Can I disconnect the cables from the binnacle to isolate the problem? Can cables be lubricated?
