I saw a article that said when opening boat in spring that you should grease throttle cables. How is this done?

Re: lubricating cables

I myself, always take my cables loose and spray a little 10W40 down them in the winter while I am winterizing and that seems to keep them free until spring when I will give them another shot of it and a little lube on my steering cables before I hook them back up.
Seems to work for me.
Throttle cables are not so bad, but them steering cables can be bear dogs if they get stuck.
Just my .02 worth.
