The Lucas oil company seems like they put out some good products plus I have an O'Reilly's right down the road from my house that carries a lot of their line.

Does anyone have any opinions about the Lucas 2-cycle oil? It is expensive but as little oil my little 40hp goes through I don't mind.

Hey Jon,
Hooty, over here in Coppell.
If that's the same Lucas that makes British electrical components from automotive and motorcycle applications, I'd avoid it like STD. :D

c/6
Hooty

Hey neighbor!

I would have to say that that is probably not the same Lucas. Have you ever stood in line at the check out counter at an autoparts store and seen the little hand crank contraption that turns a series of plastic gears in a pool of oil? On one side the oil climbs up the gears and the other nothing really happens. Well that's a product by Lucas Oil.

I'm pretty sure they only do business in petro but I could be wrong.

Hey Jon...
I really don't know if that Lucas is good oil or snake oil. I use major brand o/b oils and never had a problem with any of it. Some just seem to work a little better then others.

c/6
Hooty

Hooty: Thats Lord Lucas - Prince of Darkness to those of you unlucky enough to not own some fine British iron  Spoken as the designated mechanic and parts provider for a '56 MGA! Seriously, I restored it using Lucas electricals and have not had electrical problems in 10+ years - Cheers!

Hey, Boater.

Not as close, but still a neighbor.

CAUTION: There are 2 stroke oils and there are 2 stroke oils. If it is rated TCW-3 it is at least safe to use. If not avoid it, it is made for air cooled engines.

Good luck. :)
