I bought a 2002 Lund Grand Baron this past fall and boy what a specimen of a boat. Only issue is it takes a while to get on plane (compared to my Crestliner that had an outboard). It has the 5.0 litre 260hp Mercruiser Alpha One. Boat had a 4-blade SS prop but I noticed yesterday max rpm's was barely 4000 and this motor calls for max of 4600-5000. I even tried a 14.25x19 aluminum yesterday but barely got 4300 rpms max. So, I'm thinking of dropping to a Ballistic 14 3/4x17 SS prop to get better hole shot and this should put me in the correct range of about 4800 max rpms. Anyone else have input for the Lund Grand Baron with Merc 5.0 Alpha One?
