I have a 1997 18 foot Lund Alaskan tiller model with flat floor front to back. I have a large 13 gallon plastic gas tank at the front of the boat that takes up a lot of space. Have seen other Alaskans , even this year model, with the below deck built in gas tank from the factory. With pending floor replacement up front this Winter, I was wondering if it is possible to retrofit a gas tank below deck? Approximate cost?
Would I have to contact Lund for the appropriate part number or is there an aftermarket tank that may be applicable? I contacted my local Lund dealer and they said a retrofit was not advisable withour a built up floor?
