Re: Lund Alaskan inboard tank question
my 2003 Alaskan 18 tiller has the inboard tank, of course, and I greatly appreciate not having separate tanks cluttering up the floor.
On the other hand, my "standard" cruise in the San Juans uses up just enough gas on the outbond leg that I end up *having* to stop by Friday Harbor to gas up instead of worrying the last portion of the return leg. So I may end up with jerry cans underfoot afterall...
For awhile I had a manual shut-off value in the gas line. When I decided to simply to a single hose from tank to bulb-primer, I took up the floor to attach the tank end. The factory hose was a direct shot from tank fitting to guide-tube in hull, with a bit of a sharp bend in the hose.(not quite a "kink" and i suspect it would work for the life of the boat but my replacement put a gentle loop around the tank fitting so the hose would have no side stresses. So this is not a problem report but just something for you to think about if you have an excuse to pull up the floor anyway.)
cheers, g
