I hate to move away from Lund especially since I've only owned my Lund for one season and love this boat . . . But I want to move to a cuddy for over nighters and Lund does not make an aluminum cuddy.
One of the things I was impressed with was their lifetime warranty on the hull:
"Lund's Lifetime Limited Warranty gives you the best overall coverage ever available on hull material and workmanship. From bow to stern, gunwale to gunwale, and from the bottom of the hull to the top of the windshield, your new Lund is backed with a transferable warranty - and Lund's promise that we'll make sure any claims are handled with speed, ease, and our full support.
"Warranties include...
- Lifetime Warranty on double-riveted seams.
- Lifetime Warranty on all plywood panels, related materials and labor.
- Three Year 100% Bow-to-Stern Parts and Labor Coverage with applicable exclusions - ask your Lund dealer for details.
- Transferable.
- Some exclusions apply - please see your Lund dealer for details."
** But now that I'm interested in purchasing a Starcraft I notice their warranty is very similar. Neither warranty claims they will repair "leaky rivets". The wording is: Lifetime Warranty on double-riveted seams. That wording says to me they don't cover a leaky rivet or rivets. They just cover a leaky seam. A boat can leak through a loose rivet and still have the seam intact I would think.
So has anyone who owns a Lund ever had Lund warranty a leaky rivet that was not caused by hull abuse?
My boat has no leaks and I know I can call Lund and they will probably tell me they do cover rivets and then find out if I ever had to file a claim they would deny fixing a leaking rivet as the warranty above says only seams are covered.
Thx
