can anyone tell me how to disconnect the shift rod on an 02 merc 115 so i can service the water pump, also normal operating temp and if this motor uses a thermostat or not. i have found what looks like a pressure relief valve under 3 screws on rt. side. not much water coming out when cover removed at idle speed which leads me to beleive pump is bad. i am trying to help my neighbor who just bought it. the seller told him it was all set but we all know how that goes. i am an o.m.c. guy so i need alittle help with the merc. thanks, keykev.................
