Shows what I know, I thought they all died in that crash. Sorry to hear about it, missed an appointment though, bad karma there. My mom years ago was scheduled to see a heart specialist one day after she died of a heart attack.

Too bad, great band loosing one more.
I wonder if this is the same guy playing the smokin' piano solo on the song 'I know a little' which is one great tune. If so, that guy can definitely play a piano.

Right after the plane crash, they changed the cover on their album removing the flames that surrounded them. All the albums now have the band on a black background. I was lucky to get one of the originals before the crash.

To me they were what made Southern Rock what it is.

Billy was a Roadie, and Security, until Ronnie Van Zant, heard him play piano. then he became a legion. if ever in Jacksonville, beach there is the Freebird Cafe. that is own buy the survivors.
