i could be mistaken, but i believe the new vazer(vaser?) is an aluminum block w/cast iron head.Is the 470 the only engine Mercruiser has made that has an aluminum block and a cast iron head?
kinda sorta. it's all based on quantity of posts, nothing more.I take it by the number of stars a Vice Admiral out ranks a Rear Admiral!
yes, that's the way i understand it.So anytime they had an aluminum block and a cast iron head, they used a seawater cooled heat exchanger and a contained engine water cooling system, cooled by the heat exchanger?
Ziggy & Bt Doctur,
Your both a great help.
I am a decent mechanic, but sometimes have trouble with diagnoses.
Thanks for your help.
I'm not going to do it yet, but someday I'm going to hook the freshwater sterndrive straight to the engine and by pass that heat exchanger. But I think I will wait till she's on her last legs.
