hi everybody,looking for help just bought an old mac 3 and found the prop is realy stiff i have managed to take the prop and shaft out but cant get the prop off does anyone know how it comes off the shaft

What is a Mac 3? Is it a McCulloch 3?
As Far as I know prop just slips over the shaft so should slide off if nut and washer have been removed, Soak it good with PB Blaster and carefully drive the shaft out.Hub may come out of the prop in the process but a prop shop can rehub.

hi steelspike as far as i know mac 3 is the name of the outboard i think the engine may be italian, i cant see any sign of a nut holding the prop on could it possibly screw on to the shaft itself

Is there some sort of a cap perhaps snapped over a nut?
Anything is possible but being screwed on seems unlikely
Maybe a set screw somewhere along near the base of the blades.
