The other night I witnessed a friend replacing the HD in his Powerbook. He had never done it before, and had no service manual. What he did have was this website
http://www.ifixit.com/cart/catalog/
(Click on "FIXIT GUIDES")
They have (IMHO) amazingly well done; step-by step instructions that take you through the dissasembly and replacement of parts in most models of the Mac notebook computers. Complete with super-clear detailed photographs.
The site sells parts as well. I don't know if they have the greatest prices or not...I haven't checked.
What an example they set; eh? Don't I wish that I illustrated instructions like that when I rebuild my Merc; eh?
Thanks for reading, Chuck
