I don't have a set fee for broken bolt removal in my shop - it's time and materials at $88/hour.

Re: Machine shop prices

interesting, thanks for the replies, so at 55 or 88 bucks an hour, how many broken off bolts can be removed in one hour?

Thanks!

well karl,i'm only 65 an hour so it depends on the bolt...lets say you have got oh 14 5/16 bolts broken off in an exhaust plate.....1 man doing nothing else can maybe do 1 every 10 minutes....that includes drilling,cleaning,drilling,heat,cleaning,tapping...yeah,10 mins is real good....thats 140 mins.2.3 hrs......$149.50...man got to see what hes doing, power bill......cant do it i the rain....rent...cant do it with his bare hands....tools.and lets not forget our dear uncle sams part.......priceless...the bigger the bolt the more time it takes, not a bad deal huh?
