Just made a deal on a very lightly used 1997 Wellcraft Eclipse 2000s (less than 50 hrs). This is my first I/O. I have had a 87 Ski Centurion for the last 8 years and it has been good to me but we wanted something a little more roomy and smoother on choppy waters. I still have the Centurion. We are not sure if we will keep it or sell.
I have a couple of questions. The gas gauge on the Wellcraft does not work and the trim indicator jumps around alot. It is hard to tell the amount of trim. The gas gauge is my main concern. What should I check/change out first when trouble shooting the problems? Is the sending unit easy to get to? Any issues with this particular boat that I should pay attention to? What little review type info I could find lead me to believe the boat is very well built.
