I think they stopped making magnesium anodes and switched to aluminum for fresh water. BTW, I found corrosion on my drive and my zinc anodes were intact after my first summer in fresh water.

I don't recall Volvo ever offering Magnesium anodes for the older drives prior to the SX.

Magnesium is still made for fresh water only. Your corrosion is from the wrong anodes.

Yes they did for AQ280 ,but they hard to find anymore ,there are still aftermarket parts.

Magnesium is still made for fresh water only. Your corrosion is from the wrong anodes.

Zinc will not work at all in fresh water,I found out aluminum provide very marginal protection. Magnesium will work the best,but avoid brackish water if you close to the ocean.
