I am changing everything in the ignition magneto. Condensers, points and of course coils. My question is this. Will the laminate chipping on the one iron core cause any problems? Should it be touched up where it is bare (except where it will be exposed to the inside of the flywheel). I am a rookie and want to fix any potential problems. Thanks for any information here.

The paint is only important between the laminated layers, and of course you won't be getting in there. Otherwise it doesn't even need any paint except to make it pretty and prevent rust.

Great. I won't mess with it then. Thanks for your help, Scott
