I recently performed an inspection of my magneto and armeture plate on my 1974 40hp Johnson. Everything looked fine: points, coils, etc. After reinstalling the magneto are there any adjustments that need to be made or checkpoints to look at since the time timing sets itself with the cam on the crankshaft before installing the flywheel?

Re: Magneto

K, You should be working with a ser. manual.
Not sure what you mean magneto install , did you remove the armature plate or just the coils.
If the armatures dont seem to be dragging on the fly wheel and you have good spark you are probably ok.If you messed with the linkage you should check the syncronization of carb and
armature plate linkage.Fairly easy with a manual.
Why were you checking things?
