Main top end gear assembly???

Hi,<br /> We pulled the outdrive off today, and found that the main transmission gear assembly in the top end of the outdrive was stripped. Does anyone have information on how or where to search for that part for a cheaper price. I was quoted at a local boat shop for $247.00 for the gear kit. The part # is 75325A3, more than likely a mercruiser part. My boat is a 93 Mariah with a 4.3 LX Alpha 1 mercruiser. Thanks! TT

Is that part that I was telling you about part of the shaft to? Am I going to need to replace the shaft? I thought at first the problem with the boat was in the lower unit, because when I go to put it in gear the prop would not turn at all. It would rev up, but no motion. So, I pulled the outdrive and noticed those two gears in the upper drive were totally stripped. Thanks a lot for everyones help, this board has been really helpful! I might just have to buy the moderators a beer sometime! :)
