Maintenence and upgrades

Hey Guys and Gals,

I am a relatively new boater (Own two, 89' 21ft Galaxy runabout and a 96' 23ft Imperial WA) I really like the layout of the walkaround and want to add a few improvements.

1.The bolsters are cracked pretty bad and need replaced. From what I can tell they are epoxied or glued to the fiberglass with some type of marine sealant. The research I've done suggests that a commericial sewing machine is required if I want to try an do it myself. Removing them looks pretty easy, but I would like to have new ones made before I tear them out.

Any ideas on what it would cost to replace these pads?

2. I bought a washdown system and have not put it in yet. Should this be tied to the freshwater tank (20 gal) or draw water from the lake?

3. I would also like to add shore power to the boat as well. Is this something I can do or better off with the shop doing it?

Thanks,

washdown can come from either place. shore power you have to follow coast guard rules.
