Tonight I found out what kind of sailboat I bought, and I finally found some pictures of it. I knew my rudder was sluggish, but according to these pictures, im missing about 90% of it. I want to make a new one on my own. It wont be the best, but I understand enough to make it do alright.

What do I need to construct it (aside from hardware)? What kind of wood do I need, and how do I prepare the wood to be submerged in the salt water. Is there a treatment, or is it just a bunch of coats of bottom paint? Thanks guys.
