Anyone have any experience cleaning their carpet to get it to sit back up like it was when it was new?

I use a power washer on mine. Once its dry go over it with a beater bar type vacume. Its amazing how much sand you pull out of it!

Normally once a year I will take the garden hose and get the carpet really wet and get some dish soap and wash the carpet good then use a wet dry and suck it all out, high traffic spots do twice but it does seem to bring it back, this is on a fishing boat so toon might a take a bit longer.

My age is going to show here, but remember the old shag carpet back in the 70's. If you don't ask your Grandma.Take a leaf broom to it. Kind of rake in the opposite direction of your traffic patterns. The pressure washer and vacuum is the first way to get started then when carpet is most dry use the leaf broom :D

With previous pontoons, I used to do that all the time, but I was bringing it home. This one is stored on a slip and just a bit tougher to clean. Can't really use a lot of soap, though, I have lot of available fresh water.

I might it with a steam cleaner or power washer when I pull her out.

We used a power washer when we picked up our "new to us" pontoon. I read a few comments about not spraying directly down at the carpet, but spray more from the side. It really helped lift the nap in the carpet back up.

I keep mine on a slip but about ever 6 to 8 weeks I pull it off and run it through a car wash to clean the carpet and so on.
