Malfunctioning Trim Position Switch

My trim position switch only moves from the 1/2 down to the 3/4 down position.

I removed the switch from the starboard side of the outdrive, inspected it, re-installed it, and ajusted it so that the needle sat at the bottom of the trim guage when the outdrive was fully down.

I raised the outdrive once and the switch operated correctly through the full range of the guage. When I lowered the outdrive from the up position, the trim guage again stopped at the 3/4 down position and resumed it's prior (incorrect) operation between the 1/2 and 3/4 down position on the guage.

Does anyone know of anything else I can try before I have to pull the outdrive to replace the trim senders? Otherwise I'll just have to live without this until summer is over (in south Louisiana, somewhere around when my true loves gives me a partridge in a pear tree).

Re: Malfunctioning Trim Position Switch

Might be caused by a loose hinge pin (the bolt that the sender fits into)
Good luck muc
