Management of seaports?

Ok,<br /><br />So a British company was manageing several of our eastern seaboard and Gulf coast shipping ports until the company was sold to the U.A.E.<br /><br />This gets me to wondering who owns the West Coast ports?

was the British company sold to another company in the UAE? or was it sold to the Government of the UAE?

The British company "Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co." was sold to "Dubai Ports World" which is owned by the government of United Arab Emerates.
