Manifold cold on one side?? WHY ??

posted 07-16-03 09:24 PM <br />Hi,<br />I just installed new Manifolds & risers on my 318 inboard and when I started the boat and let run for 15 minutes I notice one side was Cold and the other Warm.<br /><br />One side was warm enough to keep my hands on it but the other side was cold or it was as if the engine wasn't even on.<br /><br />Has anyone ever had this problem?<br />What would cause this?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Lou

Cold is NOT a problem, its hot manifolds that are a problem. The side that is warm may have a restricted supply of water while the cold side has a strong supply.

love!! 318 this must be a old inboard? does it have a double water pump that is belt driven? these have to impellers one cools one side and the other the other. just a guess as long as you can keep youre hand on them you will be ok. oh who marinized it? crusadier? sometimes water goes thru one side before the other there for one side getting preheated water. depending on the year and who.....
