Manifold presure check

I am looking for information on presure checking manifolds and risers. I have called in my area and nobody around here does it. I have a 1989 Sunbird with an OMC 350 engine. I am trying to figure out how to get these checked. If anyone has done this themself could you please tell me how you did it. THanks.

if youve been running in saltwater i would float test rather than pressure test you didnt say why you felt they needed testing probably overheating or slurping seawater

check with an engine rebuilder in you're area. a lot of boat shops send them out for this test.

Flashback......I THINK he is talking about putting the boat in the water and letting it sit. Then checking for water in the oil or cylinders. It works somtimes. But not like a pressure check. Its sort of a poor mans way to check. If I was going to do a poor mans check I would take the manifolds off and pour gas into them and watch for leaks where they should not be. Fuel will seep where water will not. We use it in aviation every day for a quick check.

Thanks Trent, it seems like a hit or miss way of doing things to me... the gas in the manifold will work...... gas has little surface tension and will find it.s way thru almost anything that has a crack in it ...........almost.........

float test on an 89 manifold used in salt? throw it over the side & see if it floats! heh, heh, heh.
