manifold/spacer & spacer/riser gasket?

Do I use the same gasket for both? I ordered a compl kit(risers, manifolds etc) There were 2 different types os gaskets. There were 2 gaskets
with the 4 slots and 2 restrictor gaskets with 2 slots Doesn't make sense to me to use 2 different gaskets. ???

Thanks Don. What is the purpose for restricting the water flow? Run Hotter?

Also, Is it ok to have painted gasket surfaces? Mine came painted when I bought them. (ceramic & EDP coated) I might lightly sand the high spots and recoat with an engine paint w/ceramic in it. (just to make black again after sanding lightly)
