Hello All, I have an 1988 invader with a 2.5l mercruiser. I has 2bbl carbs, I think Rochester..... Does anyone know of a manual choke kit that I can order? Prefable an electronic one that I could just add a button up at the controls instead of a cable.

I don't like this bi-metalic heater setup, I would like to be in control.

Any input would be great

What are you trying to accomplish?

Is your current setup adjusted properly?

I would prefer a manual choke, so I can control it based on need, not based on best temperature guesss.

Re: Manual Choke Kit

I have an electric choke on my 454. I never connected it. I don't like chokes since they just make the thing run rich(when cold). It's not needed once it warms up.

I don't run the engine in cold weather so I really haven't had a problem running with it disconnected.

Your mileage may vary.

I hate manual chokes, the cables get rusty, the linkages are cheap seel. fix the auto choke and you'll be fine. I have NEVER run into a situation were i needed to override the auto choke. Boat Starts up in 35 digree weather and after 30 seconds it will idle soothly.

Ya I did not want to use a cable., just a solanoid with a push button. Anyways I fixed mine, I still would prefer a manual choke.
