I'm trying to get a manual for my early 80's 3Cyl 70. Some suppliers are telling me to allow up to 8 weeks for delivery from the US to Ireland so I want to make sure if I have to wait I get the best one! I definitely want good wiring diagrams as the separate hydraulic unit has a few 'stragglers' loose.

Recommendations appreciated.

Dave

We (iboats.com) used to carry both but decided that Seloc manuals were the best way to go. We don't carry the Clymer manuals anymore because the Seloc covered everything and more. Hope this helps.

Thanks A5 for a superfast response. It gybes with at least one reviewer on Amazon who wasn't crazy about Clymer for this range of engines.

Regards
Dave

Dave - Don't know squat about mercs but get the OEM manual specific for your motor. If you don't get one now you will get one later. Solec & Clymer cover a wide series of motors and none very well.

I agree with SoLittle. I own all three and the OEM is it. The Clymer and Solec had different info on the ignition system regarding the timing. Maybe it was my fault for not being able to find my exact model (books contained from 3 to 200HP); I only need info for one model, MINE.

Dave, I ordered the operator's and service manual for my 1975 1150 from mercury marine, and had them in 4 or 5 days. When I gave them the serial number, they were also able to give me the year of my motor.

Dave,

I am also living in Ireland. If you check around you will have no problems getting the manual for you engine. The big problem is delivery from the States. The manual is heavy so you will be looking at €10 - €15 bucks for delivery. You will have to pay extra for Airmail. I ordered my manual and I think it was €18 for Airmail delivery. I had the book in 4 days. Surface mail can take about 6 - 10 weeks. Sometimes if you are lucky your surface mail package can go airmail by accident. This has only happened to me once out of about 10 books I have recieved from the US.

Good luck,

Kev
