my engine serial is OC767410, its a mercruiser 3.7 224 liter 165 horse with an alpha 1 outdrive. the boat is a 92 Osprey. I'm having ignition problems. It will not start now. The powers everything on but wont turn over the engine. It did for the first 5 trips out but all of a sudden it would not start and now I'm dead in the driveway! Help! I want to go out next week again! Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!!!

Are you saying the starter wont turn and if so is the starter clicking

the starter is not turning. I think its either in the throttle body or the ignition itself. The starter has power to it. Don, thank you! I get power to the starter, neutral safety switch, but nothing on the start side of the ignition switch. But I will locate the slave and check that too.

Check the oil level in the outdrive, also pull all the spark plugs and try it again
does the starter go "clunk"? or does the pulley try to turn a little bit?

I think its either in the throttle body or the ignition itself.

Neither of those have anything to do with your engine cranking over.

only turns if I jump the starter solenoid. I get no sounds at all by turning the key!

Check your terminals that they are clean and tight and your battery is fully charged
