i have a 97 40hp force power series by mercury motor (factory install on a tracker boat) and need a repair manual but not sure which manual to get......mercury or force? also, do i order mercury or force parts?

also, can someone point me in the right direction as to what kind of volt tester to get to check electrical components...maybe a link?

here is a pic of said motor cover ;)

Re: manual needed

You need the Force repair manual, factory if you can find one, otherwise, get the Clymer brand Force manual.

Regular multi meter can be used for most things, but a dva is needed for some ignition tests. Start with a regular multi meter.
