My high pressure fuel pump in VST was stuck. I removed it and hooked it up to 12v and was unable to get it spin (was able to do this previous year and get a season out of the original fuel pump)
I ordered a amazon special, 2nd pull and boat ran in driveway on earmuffs, for 15 minutes without issues. I put boat in the water and ran for 45 minutes no issue. Boat stalls out, I pulled pump apart to test pump on 12v pump spins fine. Put pump back into VST, no fuel pressure I have 14.9 volts at the plug going into VST when I pull start. I pulled the high pressure line out and no fuel flow.
I rigged up the VST to a battery and I am able to get engine to run. Quantum fuel pumps sent me another 70 dollar amazon special Fuel pump. Still no luck.
Before I spend 600 on OEM fuel pump does anyone else have any ideas? I've been told that the ECM could be bad... Parts guy at local marina said he has never placed an order for one. said they do not go bad unless submerged in salt water... motor has not been in salt water or submerged.
What should the voltage at plug be?
SELOC manual shows no rectifier.
No Fuses on boat to my knowledge, I have spark and motor runs with Fuel Pump Externally powered?
Could it be the stator? How can I test this?
Low Pressure fuel pump replaced 2 years ago.
No local marina can diagnose boat for 3-4 weeks.
Can I Jerry rig battery, a switch and run fuel pump with external power without damaging anything?
