Re: Manuals

Howdy, TW.

I have used both. I prefer the Clymer for OMC mid-range engines like yours. Neither will satisfy the particular wrench who wants details.

First choice is an OEM manual. More detail, better explanations, but:.. .they often ask for special tools and equipment that we DIYers don't have.

Good luck. :)

Re: Manuals

Thanks JB,

I am pretty new at this and I was told that the OEM manual is a little harder to understand for newbies..I will go with the Clymer then..Thanks for the speedy reply!!

Re: Manuals

I have both a Clymers and a Seloc manual. Both of them are pretty thorough, although its easier to find stuff in the seloc manual and the manual is a bit bigger. I think the seloc manual is written better and is easier to follow. The clymers manual has about 20 pages of cartoon-type general engine info & coloured pictures at the front....which IMO should be in another book...when ya buy a book specifically about a particular engine, I think its a waste of paper to fill up 20 pages with general stuff.
My next manual will be a Seloc manual.
