I own a 88 21' CC Answer. The boat was made Answer Marine in Miami,FL. It was use by the Florida Marine Patrol. Mine was one of them. I'm going to probably be doing the transom and other repairs to the boat but before I get involved in all this repair work I would like to know who has heard of this boat or had an expirence with it. Quality,Reliability, etc. I know the boat wasen't around that long nor have I seen any of them out there. Thanks

Re: Manufacturer Question

I have a fishing buddy who had one (24/26 ft cc) for about 5 years. I know at the time he was rough on a boat and I dont recall him complaining about the boat itself, except it was never big enough. I also see a few running around still.

To Texasmark: What is the purpose of your post? I too bought a sight unseen goverment auction hull and then tried to learn as much as possible about it from this forum and other internet sources. We can't all be as smart as you. AJC: I'll do some research and try to post back soon; my experience with anything the goverment originally paid your tax dollars for is they got top quality.

Re: Manufacturer Question

Miami...Marine Patrol. One of the hardest places and uses on the planet for small boats. If the hull isn't falling apart from structural failure the answer is you have a sturdy boat worth repairing.

Re: Manufacturer Question

wyowoodworker.

Maybe I misunderstood his motivation. Maybe if he got a lot of negative answers, he wouldn't attempt the restoration. Dunno.
---------------------
On the bright side, around here the "heat" is real hard on their stuff and it must be reliably there in all sorts of weather and conditions.

Just the mere fact that THEY use the boat should be answer enough.......course you never know what was motivating the person in the purchasing department and most of the times these agencies are under funded.

Mark

Re: Manufacturer Question

Thanks for the input. Ive had the boat since 01 and havent had any complaints about it. It could use more storage space and a live well. Thats why I am asking if anybody has heard or owned one before. I have taken it though some rough waters (4'-5') and no problems. Wyowoodwrkr i have done some reserch with no luck if you come up with some it would by greatlly appreciated. Texasmark as far as these govnt. agencies being under funded I dought it. In Miami Ive seen the FMP and other agencies in Makos, Bostons, Anglers even Contenders. So I dont think they buy crap. I would just like to know more about this boats before doing more restoration to it. I like to keep the boat since its a very dry ride and can get 50 mph with 70 gals. of fuel me my wife two sets of dive equipment and gear. Thanks again
