I just read a little bit about Marideck vinyl flooring. i was wondering if anyone has used it yet?
I am considering it to put down on the deck of my little tri-hull. I am working on a raw fiberglassed deck. How smooth does the surface need to be to get this flooring to bond? I know smoother is better, but how smooth does it need to be? Should I put some gelcoat down first?
How durable is it? Can it take dropping a tackle box on it for instance? Does it rip easily?

Nautalex is the original. Marideck is a knockoff. There are several others on the market as well.

I customized a new boat last year and wanted to match the existing floor. I got samples of all of them to compare. I ended up using the stuff sold by Cabelas. It was the OEM for Starcraft. Cabelas didn't give the trade name though. Can't say enough good about it. Its also a perfect match to my other boat, and its been on there 26 years.

Its awful hard to damage it. My '84 boat has not one scratch in it after all these years.

The Cabelas product is also a bit cheaper because there isn't a huge minimum order quantity.

I put it on new plywood. That would be the preferred way, even if you have to put down an extra piece.

Here's the installation instructions:
