Marine Battery in a Raft?

I apologize if this is a dumb question. I am considering putting an electric start engine on my 18' Aire cataraft. Obviously the battery will get quite wet at times. I would try to rig a tie down system to minimize it, but it will happen.

Is this a no go item, or are marine batteries made for this? Or would there be obvious problems with shorting something out? It would be used just for the engine. Thanks.

Get a marine AGM battery if you are concerned. Please do not duplicate your posts.

Throw it in a vented battery box.
