not really a restoration project but I thought this would be the best place to ask - I'm looking to re-carpet my 18.5' bass boat - where is a good place with good prices to buy marine carpet from?

Lowes has a great selection of marine carpet..not all of it is in stock, but they have samples of the ones they don't. My Home Depot was garbage in that department..didn't have much of anything. Lowes had everything from basic indoor/outdoor all the way to Berber marine carpet. Good prices as well. You can find many other sources online doing a google search for "marine carpet" or you can buy it on Ebay as well. All venders I have contacted will send you an example if you'd like.

Good luck.

The basic marine carpet they had was 16oz, obviously on the low end..but might be ok for a bass boat. They also had high end carpet too..Berber at 32oz and another type at 28oz. The berber was 1.50 sq/ft, which is a very competitive price.

Re: marine carpet

I would agree that AT THE STORE Lowes and HD carpet isn't that great. However when I was searching online for marine carpet....I stumbled on this http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...D23X-_-100661374&locStoreNum=4125&marketID=68 and ordered it. Cost me much less for the 20' roll than I would have spent for just the 16' I needed from elsewhere. Free shipping even. I ended up ordering their adhesive and a notched trowel as well. I haven't installed it yet but hope to this weekend. I'll report back or check my thread.

There are many reputable sellers (some dealers) with excellent pricing on eBay. Just do a search for "Marine Carpet".
