Hey guys I just wanted to know if there was a difference in the marine ignition coil and fuel pump vs the automotive one. I know ihave to get a marine starter and alternator but couldn't find a solid answer through the forums on these two parts.

The coils I believe are not marine specific but definately appication specific ie. points or electronic ignition. Might want to verify that part.

Fuel pumps are normally marine specific, not sure what you are working on but the mechanical pumps in a car vent the diaphram through a hole to the air. In a marine application the diaphram vent hole is threaded and then piped to the carb. This is done so that in the event the diaphram breaks raw fuel gets pumped to the vent and then to the carb. If it was not piped it would fill the bilge with fuel and then well bad things can happen.

I know that for the Flamethrower coils, they recommend the epoxy filled coil for marine applications.

Same coil but watch for resistors. Fuel pumps are different.

You can use an automotive coil and there is no truth that they need to be epoxy filled. Oil filled is fine.
