Marine paint vs. all others

I have a 18ft MFG. I trailer it always. Need to get away cheap. Is there any paints other then marine paints, that I can use on the boat. Also, since I don't slip it, do I need bottom paint. I was told told any good poly paint would work, I have my doubts because of the salt water.

For a Trailered Boat,....... Go for it,.....
No Bottom Paint required.....
