people here seem to really like 3m 4200 or 5200, I used slow set 5200 to fill a lot of hole and I am extremely happy with the results :)

X2. Silicones aren't an adhesive, they are a sealant. Things start flexing, they'll pull away from the adjacent surfaces. Polyurethanes are an incredibly strong adhesive, and are formulated to remain flexible throughout their life...

Thanks for the reply, I will try the 3m 4200 adhesive sealant...now I must just remove the rest of the silicone :)

I feel sorry for you, it took me forever to remove the silicon the previous owner put on. I do mean remove it all, I cleaned the silicon out of a 3/8 hole in my center console (so I thought) put the 5200 long dry hard set 3m, let it cure for a week and was able to push out a near perfect cast of the hole. :)

Had to run a drill bit down it with sand paper ti remove the silicon from the wood surface.

Unfortunately, nothing will stick to silicone...:eek:
