Marine varnish V UV resistant Varnish ?

what is the difference between marine varnish and UV resistant varnish, the salesman at the paint counter says that they are basically the same except that the UV resistant varnish made here in South Africa is formulated to resist high UV levels experienced in the high altitude regions (Johannesburg Pretoria etc) which are up at 6000 ft above sea level and experience much higher levels of solar UV light than down at the coast. If this is the case then maybe the high altitide UV resistant varnish is the stuff to use at sea level.

I would agree with that sir.. although i would guess there is a limit as to how much uv stuff you can put in the varnish and it still be clear... or durable..I do know that most marine varnishes do have uv in them....
