I looked at a 4 cylinder 100 hp mariner. i believe to be a 1988. I have a couple of questions. The cylinder compression was 120 120 118 130. I think this is still within acceptable tollerences. Is that true? Also the motor is painted black with a silver and red mariner sticker on the sides with a cursive written "one hundred" below. Did some one paint the silver motor black, or did it come that way originally? The motor fired up and idled well, no other problems noted.Seller seems honest-older family man. i appreciate your responses.
