Mariner 115 has a beeping noise sounds like a back up alarm going off, what is it?

It also hasn't quit sounding when the motor has been off for days, when i turn the key it sounds, is there a reset for it or is it a faulty sensor?

This could be your "warning alarm" powerhead is getting to hot,got to have water circulating through the powerhead to keep it cool or possible damaged impeller not letting the water circulate throughly. Are you running the motor without water hose hooked up to the motor. How long has it been since a new water pump/impeller has been installed.Not trying to bash you just need more information.
